This is an academic work developed by Júlio dos Anjos (Student# 9040193) for grading in the course "Information and Communication Systems, Project Implementation", part of Library and Information Sciences and Technologies degree, of the School of Management and Industrial Studies of the Oporto Polytechnic Institute

caveats

This is a working project. Feature freeze is planned by April/May 2007, after which the site will be graded.

I may, or may not, continue improving features from July 2007 onwards, if I feel it serves any useful purpose.

The development process adopted was based on two very unusual principles (at least for academic grade work and against my better judgement):

• Dream Big, Start Small, Scale Fast
• Release Early, Upgrade Often

Unfortunately this philosophy is incompatible with "you get only one chance of making a good first impression". ( If, and when, I find a solution to this conundrum I'll post it here).

• Do not make references to this site in scientific literature: it invalidates it for grading purposes, and places undue pressure on the teacher!
• I'm open to suggestions for improvements to the site's looks and functionalities. The grading is mostly on usability and accessibility (and quality of the printed report: 20%; on the other hand, apparently, the usefulness of the site is valued 0%!)
